How scoring works
vibecq scores every completed assessment the same way. Your team sees the results on the candidate dashboard; candidates never see scores, bands, or category labels.
This page explains what the numbers mean for your hiring decisions.
Overall fit (0–100)
The headline number is an overall fit score from 0 to 100. It comes from the work-style section of the assessment (31 questions) and reflects how the candidate's answers compare to the full range of possible responses on those questions.
How to use it: A quick sort and a first-pass read — who to prioritize for interviews, not who to reject outright.
What it is not: A hire/reject decision. vibecq does not pass or fail anyone.
The gauge color gives a rough band: lower, mid, and higher ranges use muted tones so the dashboard stays readable, not alarmist.
Work-style profile
Seven categories roll up from the work-style questions:
- Leadership
- Managing People
- Work Ethic
- Speed / Urgency
- Ambition
- Innovation
- Open-Mindedness
Each category is shown as a position within its own range, with a labeled midpoint. Above the midpoint means stronger on that dimension relative to the scale; below means lighter.
How to use it: See where someone leans on dimensions that matter for the role — without treating any single bar as a knockout.
Personality traits
The second part of the assessment covers five personality dimensions:
- Openness
- Conscientiousness
- Extraversion
- Agreeableness
- Neuroticism
Each trait is scored as a percentage and grouped into a Low, Medium, or High band. A short description sits under each trait to help you interpret it in conversation.
How to use it: Context for team fit and interview questions — not a clinical diagnosis and not blended into the overall fit number.
In-office preference
At intake, candidates answer whether they can work from your office. That note appears on the dashboard for logistics. It does not affect the overall fit score or any category.
Repeat attempts
If the same email completes the assessment again, vibecq keeps every attempt. The dashboard defaults to the latest finished one; earlier attempts stay available for comparison.
A few things to keep in mind
- Scores are set when the candidate finishes. What you see today is what was calculated at submission time.
- Your reviewers see what candidates selected and the summary scores — not hidden weights behind individual answer choices.
- The assessment is the same for every candidate in your workspace, so profiles are comparable across your pipeline.
